Window Tint Types and Options
At Tried and True Tint, we have a thick deep dyed, color stable film for a more economical option, or different levels of Nano-ceramic films with various heat rejection levels based on your budget and needs.
Every installation include a lifetime warranty that covers bubbling, discoloration and peeling. We also include a no-fault warranty which will cover $75 towards replacing the tint one time, on one window in the case of damage to the tint that was not our fault. This comes in handy should you accidentally scratch the film or break a window unexpectedly.

Installation Process
The process involves cleaning the windows, applying the tint film, and carefully smoothing it out to remove bubbles. The film is then trimmed to fit the shape of your windows and left to cure.
Installation usually takes 1-2 hours for cars and 2-4 hours for residential or commercial spaces, depending on the number of windows.
Maintenance and Care
Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild soap-and-water solution to clean tinted windows. Avoid abrasive materials.
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners. Opt for those specifically designed for tinted windows or a gentle soap solution.
Legal and Regulatory Questions
The penalty for driving with, as well as installing tint that is darker than allowed is up to 6 months in jail, a misdemeanor and up to a $500 fine. We choose to not make ANY exceptions to breaking this law, in order to protect ourselves in the event of an accident involving lawsuits or insurance investigations, as well as the public safety of our community with dark tint being a visibility concern. We do have customers in regularly who have been pulled over and need illegal tint removed as well as those who have bought previously tinted vehicles who have almost gotten into accidents or hit pedestrians due to the tint being too dark. We have a high level of integrity in not only obeying the law but in considering the best interest of our customers and other people on the road. Signing a waiver will not change our policy, as this has no way of actually changing the law itself and only puts more evidence to the fact that we were breaking it.
In Montana, the front two windows must allow more than 24% light on all vehicles and the film we use will meter about 25%, once installed. The rear windows on a sedan, hatchback, coupe or station wagon must allow more than 14% light and the film we use will meter to about 15%, once installed. The rear windows on a truck, SUV, or van have no limit on darkness and can be any shade. We do not tint below the AS1 Line on a windshield, but it can be as dark as you'd like.
